There, Crawford tells Spider-Man that Kraven wasn't always like this, that she actually loved him as Sergei Kravenoff. Crawford recounts an accident that happened years ago that would have killed Sergei if he hadn't used a dangerous potion that saved his life and gave him the strength and instincts of an animal, but drove him insane. Meanwhile, while searching for Crawford at her apartment, Kraven discovers her connection to Robbie and kidnaps him. He then threatens to kill Robbie if Spider-Man doesn't come to him with Crawford.
