Midway through the race, Gray encounters Lyon and Sherry, and Lyon joins the fight. During the battle, Lyon discovers Racer's weakness and whispers it to Gray, then freezes Gray. Sherry joins in as well but is quickly defeated. Lyon is nearly defeated, and when Racer is about to stab him, he tells Racer that he knows about his magic - to slow down his opponents, or rather, to slow their perception of time in a certain area. Gray breaks free from the ice and is at its edge, shooting an ice arrow at Racer. However, Racer reveals an explosive tear on his body and plans to take Gray, Lyon, and Sherry with him, killing them. Just as Racer prepares to dash towards Gray, Lyon grabs Racer and jumps off the cliff, followed by a massive explosion. Brain knows that Racer is defeated and awakens Midnight.
